hei
sorry my first post is not a happy one, i have had my 1990 saab turbo carlsson stolen from the oppsal area of oslo,
i know its not what the site is for but im desperate to get it back, its a red british registered right hand drive full blown carlsson.
i fear its been stolen to be stripped for parts therefore someone in the area is going to see them on the market , please help out, it could well be your machine next.

tusen takk
thanks for the replys fellas,
the car was stolen some time after 8 pm and before 9 am on sat night/sun morn.its a right hand drive so very easy to spot, still had the carlsson steering wheel with red stripes(not in the best of condition), no leather, red apc system with a manual overboost fitted on the control valve. i just replaced the old oil and amp gauges with ones from biltema, and it had a vortex filter fixed straight onto the metering head, also a colour coded front grille but no vent covers at the rear and only 15 inch aero wheels.
all up a pretty standard car with just a few variations, i know back home the body kit, spoiler and apc are in big demand and i suppose its the same here,
thanks again all,
andy

Only you forget one thing!
The population in norway is less than half of the population in London alone.
So, there are less people here, less Saabs here and the Saab-comunity is smaller.
Whith that in mind, I think it's a greater chanse to get your car back in one piece here than if it had been stolen in the UK.
I'd like to think that people on this forum is rather helpfull and on the watchout for your car then buyers of stolen parts from it!
Having said that, I wish you welcome to our forum and I do hope that you get your car back asap!
Kind regards Anders
Ps. I'll be looking for it here where I live!

exactly
hei anders
you summed up my thoughts perfectly, i realise the police can only realy wait till it turns up, so i thought id enlist the help of the fellow saabys here in norway(and sweden!cheers).
i certanly dont believe a fellow enthusiast would ever steal anothers motor, we work hard on them ourselves and take pride in them, and as such have respect for others who are doing the same, the perfect detectives.
thanks again

on the road again
Hi chaps,
got a phonecall late last night from the police saying they had found the car and i could go and pick it up at the towing yard,
I had images of pure destruction and a motor fit for scrap, but am pleased to say apart from a bit of water in the carpets and some theft (stereo, mobile and fishing gear) shes in good order, it seems they used an old saab key to get in and start it! now thats a worry.
anyhow thanks very much for all the help and support and now i have a car again i can join up as a turbo owner proper.
tusen takk,
andy.

Not only that you got it back, but even that it was'nt totally destroyed.

The problem with some keys from other Saab's , working on your own car.... is unfortunately a well known fact!

Re: on the road again
What is the best solution to this problem? An alarm should do a good job, but I still think it would be a problem that someone can use "any" SAAB-key on our cars.Viggen-51 skrev:The problem with some keys from other Saab's , working on your own car.... is unfortunately a well known fact!![]()
