Legg inn av andy engelsk » 09 jan 2007, 18:34

can you tell me the best place to get good used parts? im having no luck with the local scrapyards, old 900s seem a bit thin on the ground.

some intresting turbos at speedparts wish i had some spare cash!

what im needing is a newish wastgate actuator, my car suddenly went to half boost, cant find any leaks in the charge system so i assume its this or the apc valve.

either way spares are proving hard to source and iv been stung for import tax on parts sent from the uk  , so unless its totaly needed i wont be doing that again.

regards
andy

Have you checked that the stay from the turbo that goes into the wastegate don't touch the membran?

And did you check that the wastegate stay is connected below the turbo? (to the integrated wastegate). Seems that your APC valve doesn't work. Usually it goes like this if the connections are mixed. Or the APC (magnetic) valve is not working.

I have one APC valve from 9000 85, guess thats the same part. I also have some wastegate valves from Garret T25 if they're fitting. You gan get those for just above the shipping cost if you are interessed.

thanks folks,
the wastgate rod is all intact and conected, but feels a little to easy to move. this is why i think it may be a weak spring. however this loss of perfomance was instant so i now feel its the apc valve, i had a manual boost control fitted during the summer and am not sure if this screwed up the valve.
so first thing try a new apc valve.
all seems a bit pointless till the weather clears up though, who nedds 18 psi boost in this icy weather!
